Fabric Renewal is a socially conscious company whose core values are built on giving back to the community and empowering others. We believe that our small, family business can do its share to improve the lives of its customers, employees and community. We are extremely proud of three programs that allow us to give back in a way that is unique to our company and our line of business. Our charitable programs highlight how a local company can donate a little time and expertise to leave the world a better place than we found it.
Try to imagine the disappointment of not being able to attend your school prom because you cannot afford a dress. These brief moments in time can have a profoundly negative and long lasting impact on a young lady’s view of self-worth and confidence.
In 2009, it was brought to our attention that many girls do not have an opportunity to attend their school proms because they cannot afford prom attire for the special occasion. We then had that “ah-ha” moment when we realized that almost every home we go into has a formal dress or two in the back of the closet that will likely never be worn again. As a result, Fabric Renewal’s Nicole Moore founded Project Prom Miss and seized the opportunity to facilitate the recycling of gowns.
At Project Prom Miss we collect, dry-clean and distribute gently worn dresses, gowns, shoes and purses for underprivileged girls in our community to wear to their proms. In just the first few years we have placed over 1,000 gowns and in the process placed a lot of smiles on young lady’s faces.
In conjunction with our friends at NARD, we have partnered with the Salvation Army to offer the insurance industry this unique recycling program. Together we have collected and cleaned over 500,000 items and donated them to the Salvation Army. These donations have saved the insurance industry over $1,000,000 in cleaning cost and provided some much needed help for local families.
- Our customers have the chance to clean out their closets and receive a tax deduction from the Salvation Army for their efforts.
- Your insurance company saves on the cost of cleaning items that will not be worn again–helping keep insurance claims and premiums under control.
- Our community benefits from a strong Salvation Army that uses the proceeds to assist those in need
- Our landfills are spared mountains of clothing that would otherwise be thrown away.
Fabric Renewal is honored to be able to play a small part in helping our community by delivering several truckloads of freshly cleaned clothing to our local Salvation Army store each season.
Fabric Renewal is a proud supporter of the national Coats for Kids Program. This critical program collects, cleans and distributes gently used jackets, coats and outerwear to local families in need. Our annual coat drive gives some local families the peace of mind that they will not have to face the harsh winter months without a warm coat this year.
Please join us in our efforts to help local families in need address their clothing concerns.
